WFMW: Eves and Otters
I know I am not the first mom to have come up with this, but I will share anyway. We have two girls and they are already savvy to who gets to choose first and who gets a turn first. As of now, Mini-Me get to choose first or go first if it is an even day and Mini-T does likewise on the odd days. (Mini-Me has taken to asking me if today is an Eve or Otter.) I am hoping as Mini-T gets older, this will cut down on at least some arguments in the household.

"eves and otters" - that is too cute. And also a great, practical idea.

Look at you with that sassy banner. :-)

That's a great idea! I like Mini-me's version of the names too. Eves and Otters.

And I love the nicknames too! (mini-me and mini-T ... clever) It lets me know a little bit more of the girls personalities!

I started to call them Thing 1 and Thing 2, but wasn't so sure they would appreciate it later in life. =)

I wonder how long it will be until they figure out there are more odd days in a year than even. :)

Pieces, don't do that to me! I hadn't even thought of it. I guess I just a) bribe my oldest with some fun treat or b) make them switch off every other year. Let's not even think about leap year. Maybe I'll get to choose on that day.

Where were all you smart young mommies when my girls were little? Great idea. I love the profile photo. Your head's a little pointy, isn't it. OK. I give up. What the heck is that? Am I blind? I can't make it get big enough to tell what it is but I really, really hope that's not your head.

I'm with Barb in that I wish I had all these great ideas when mine where younger. Out of my three, we usually let the baby(which is six now) go first. The rest of us simply enjoy peace instead of whining or crying. I know the Supernanny would not approve. I agree with you about not using Thing 1 and Thing 2, however, I thought it was hilarious.

Barb, it's my Diet Dr Pepper disguised in sun glasses trying to convince me it's regular. =)

Awesome idea. I'm having lots of trouble with that lately.

I like that idea. I got a WFMW that suggested assigning them entire weeks. We've totally been car-ride hassle-free ever since. If it's your week to ride up front, the other person gets to sleep with the dog. If you go away to camp for a week, the other person gets to do both in your absence and we pick up where we left off when you get back. It's totally working!

Carol, we haven't even gotten to the front seat thing since they are both in the boosters. But I will keep that in my head for the future!

Whew! Thank you! I was trying to figure out how to suggest you rethink your hair style. :-)

Robin, I love the trick--of course, once Addison gets older, then I'm going to have to try something else, seeing as there are only two kinds of days, and that won't work with an "otter" number of kids!

Love the comments, too--and nice hair:)

Here's another trick I learned. Suppose you have to divide something in half. Well, you know the line: "Her half is bigger than mine!" So what you do is have one kid cut the thing in half...but the OTHER kid gets first pick! You can bet the cutter is gonna make reeeeallll sure those pieces are pretty even!

Truly brilliant idea - seriously. And if you have three you could go eve, otter, outta luck....
